Red Priest Brings Halloween "Nightmare" to GPAC
10/14/08
Are you up for something a little different this Halloween? Then dress up in your best outlandish costume or ghoulish garb and join GPAC for Red Priest, Nightmare in Venice, on Saturday, October 25 at 8 p.m.
Named for the flame-haired composer, Antonio Vivaldi, Red Priest is the U.K.'s most theatrical baroque ensemble. Their performances have been described as "electrifying," "sonically supercharged," and "deliciously twisted."
The soul of a Red Priest concert is, of course, the red hot baroque music, played with virtuosic zeal by this talented quartet. The staging, however, is far from the expected, incorporating costumes, themes and spectacle, with an entire range of lighting and stage effects to bring the story to life.
Following the concert, all audience members are invited to partake in festivities including music and refreshments, with prizes awarded for the best costumes.
