Join us for a special screening of the Grammy-nominated documentary that follows members of The Silkroad Ensemble as they gather in locations across the world, exploring the ways art can both preserve traditions and shape cultural evolution.
Explore an interactive gallery experience with visual artist Jin Powell and her exhibit titled See Me, Hear Me, I Am Human. Participants will take a guided tour of the gallery while exploring her inspirations and current techniques for creating art, including bamboo pens. Jin Powell is a sculptor, painter and drawer currently living in Memphis, TN.
Discover dance with a workshop designed for the absolute beginner taught by members of Memphis tap company The Hot Foot Honeys. This class will introduce you not only to basic single tap steps, rhythms and short combinations but also to the history of tap dance. No experience necessary. Tap shoes or hard sole shoes are recommended.
