Family Art Day with Qwynto

In partnership with the City of Germantown’s Big Read program, GPAC and illustrator/muralist Qwynto will lead an interactive art experience that will allow participants to “step outside reality for a moment and explore another world” inspired by the selected book, Station Eleven.

Families and children will start the journey at inspiration station to explore all things circus through props, books and photographs. Children will then sketch/paint their own character on masonite boards. These sketches will be transposed to canvas and become a permanent part of a community mural that will be displayed at the Germantown Public Library. Children will be able to take home their masonite board creations.

Take time out of your busy day to appreciate nature and let your imagination run wild! Join us under the big tent on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. outside the front lobby at GPAC (weather permitting; event may be moved inside).

Free and open to the public! Call the GPAC Box Office at 901.751.7500 to reserve your space.

*The Big Read is a program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
